Accessibility and Inclusion at Informed Learning

At Informed Learning, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, respected, and included. Accessibility and inclusivity are central to how we design our workshops and run our business because we believe everyone deserves access to professional development opportunities. Below, you’ll find details about the measures we take to ensure our workshops and events are as accessible and inclusive as possible.

Our Core Values

  • Disability Pride: As a disabled business owner, I understand the importance of creating spaces that celebrate and support people of all abilities. We promote pride in disability and aim to normalise accommodations as a standard, not an exception.

  • LGBTQ+ Affirmation: I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and Informed Learning proud business. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and safe environment for everyone, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Informed Learning is a trans-inclusive space, if you are not willing to respect that then you are welcome to seek a workshop elsewhere.

  • Neurodiversity Inclusion: We value and support neurodiverse participants by creating flexible and understanding workshop environments.

Workshop Accessibility

Our workshops are designed to be accessible to a wide range of needs. Here’s what we offer as standard to support you:

Venue Accessibility

  • The workshops take place at Work IQ, an accessible venue with:

    • Wheelchair and limited mobility access to all areas.

    • Disabled parking close to the entrance.

    • Fully accessible toilet facilities.

    • Gender-neutral toilets throughout the venue.

Workshop Features

  • Slides in Advance: Workshop slides are shared ahead of time to help participants follow along more easily or review materials in advance.

  • Sensory Support:

    • Sensory fidget devices are available during the session.

    • Clean blankets and hand fans are provided for participants who are temperature-sensitive.

    • A private space is available for anyone who needs a moment of quiet or relief from sensory overwhelm.

  • Flexible Participation:

    • Participants are encouraged to stim, fidget, or engage in self-soothing activities as needed.

    • Snacks and drinks are available at all times.

    • You are welcome to step out to use the bathroom, grab a breath of fresh air, or take a break whenever you need to.

Additional Supports

  • Sign Language Interpreters: Available upon request. Please let us know in advance so we can arrange this for you. If there is someone you particularly recommend we are happy to work with them!

  • Neurodiversity-Friendly: The workshop environment is designed to be low-pressure and supportive. Breaks are built into the schedule, and we’re happy to accommodate specific needs where possible. You can ask ahead of time by emailing clare@informedlearning.ie. Or you can talk to your trainer Clare in the venue on the day of your workshop.
